Stereo Preamplifier With Bass Boost

This preamplifier was designed to cope with CD players, tuners, tape recorders etc., providing an ac voltage gain of 4, in order to drive less sensitive power amplifiers. As modern Hi-Fi home equipment is frequently fitted with small loudspeaker cabinets, the bass frequency range is rather sacrificed. This circuit features also a bass-boost, in order to overcome this problem. You can use a variable resistor to set the bass-boost from 0 to a maximum of +16dB @ 30Hz. If a fixed, maximum boost value is needed, the variable resistor can be omitted and substituted by a switch.

Notes:

  • Numbers in parentheses show IC1 right channel pin connections.
  • A log type for P2 ensures a more linear regulation of bass-boost.
  • Needing a simple boost-in boost-out operation, P2 must be omitted and SW1 added as shown in the diagram.
  • For stereo operation SW1 must be a DPST type.
  • Please note that, using SW1, the boost is on when the switch is open, and off when the switch is closed.

The BA1404 fm stereo modulator Ic contains all parts needed to design an simple high efficiency stereo transmitter circuit , it contains a stereo modulator that creates stereo composites signals ,an FM modulator that creates FM signals and a RF amplifier .

The fm stereo transmitter develops composite signals made up of a main(L+R) signal and sub(L-R) signal and a pilot (19KHz) signal using a 38KHz crystal oscillators.
The RF amplifier transmits the stereo encoded signals and is also a buffer for FM modulator .
For this FM stereo transmitter circuit you’ll need a DC power supply that can provide an output voltage between 1.5 an 3 volts . This fm stereo transmitter circuit project can be used for FM stereo transmitters or wireless microphone circuits .
The L1 coil must have 3 turns of 0.5mm wire on a 5 mm core .
Antenna used in this transmitter can be an common telescopic antenna or a 60-80 mm long Cu wire .

53 dB Stereo Preamplifier for Tape or Phonographs

With the schema shown in the following schematic diagram, both channels of this stereo preamp is constructed using  RCA CA3052 quad AC amplifier.  this pre-amplifier schema is featured with tone control (bass – treble). Make a similar schema to complete the other channel, since the schema for left and right channel are similar. To be high-fidelity, total harmonic distortion should be kept minimum, this schema gives less than 0.3% distortion level at  at 1-kHz testing signal with 1-V amplitude.  

Gain or amplification at 1 kHz is 47 dB,  and the tone control will curve the response with 11.5-dB boost at 100 Hz and 10 kHz at maximum bass and treble boost.  For minimum bass and treble knob position,  the attenuation will be 10dB  at 100 Hz  and 9dB at 10kHz. This schema is operated by a single ended supply for wider range environment. Inputs can be from tape recorders pickup or magnetic-cartridge phonographs.

Mobile Automotive Stereo Player

Mobile Automotive Stereo Player Circuit Diagram. Using a mobile phone while driving is dangerous. It is also against the law. However, you can use your mobile phone as a powerful music player with the help of a stereo power amplifier. This does away with the need of a sophisticated in-dash car music system. Most mobile phones have a music player that offers a number of features including preset/manual sound equalisers. They have standard 3.5mm stereo sockets that allow music to be played through standard stereo headphones/sound amplifiers. Nokia 2700 classic is an example.

A car audio amplifier with 3.5mm socket can be designed and simply connected to the mobile phone output via a shielded cable with suitable connectors/jacks (readymade 3.5mm male-to-male connector cable is a good alternative). Fig. 1 shows the schema of car stereo player. It is built around popular single-chip audio power amplifier TDA1554Q (IC1). The TDA1554Q is an integrated class-B power amplifier in a 17-lead single-in-line (SIL) plastic power package. 

IC TDA1554Q contains four 11W identical amplifiers with differential input stages (two inverting and two non-inverting) and can be used for single-ended or bridge applications. The gain of each amplifier is fixed at 20 dB. Here it is configured as two 22W stereo bridge amplifiers. The amplifier is powered from the 12V car battery through RCA socket J2. Diode D1 protects against wrong-polarity connection. LED1 indicates the power status.

Connect stereo sound signal from the 3.5mm headset socket of the mobile phone to audio input socket J1. When you play the music from your mobile, IC1 amplifies the input. The output of IC1 is fed to speakers LS1 and LS2 fitted at a suitable place in your car. Electrolytic capacitor C5 connected between pin 4 of IC1 and GND improves the supply-voltage ripple rejection. Components R2 and C4 connected at mute/standby pin (pin 14) of IC1 eliminate the switch on/off plop. The schema is quite compact. A good-quality heat-sink assembly is crucial for IC1. Fig. 2 shows the stereo socket and stereo jack.

Assemble the schema on a general-purpose PCB and enclose in a suitable cabinet. Small dimensions of the power amplifier make it suitable for being enclosed in a plastic (ABS) case with vent holes. Signal input socket, speaker output terminals, on/off switch, indicator, fuse holder and power supply socket are best located on the front panel of the enclosure as shown in Fig. 3.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The TDA1510AQ is a class-B integrated output amplifier encapsulated in a 13-lead single in-line (SlL) plastic power package. Developed primarily for car radio application, the device can also be used to drive low impedance loads (down to 1,6 Ω).
